2022

2022.1 Release

This release included several enhancements to existing features on the UME platform, including:

  • Ability to apply reciprocity logic to Faculty and Residents' aggregate view of student evaluations
  • Ability for Student Administrators to control students’ access to peer evaluations in Review & Release groups
  • Expansion of the available delivery window for Automated Evaluation rules
  • Expansion of the option to email the student target when a new performance evaluation is completed
  • Expansion of reciprocity behavior to accommodate students who are evaluated by multiple Outside Evaluators in a single course
  • Ability for Course Directors to access several sites under a single core course to view all related student evaluations from the core course
  • Ability for Course Coordinators to input portal messages in the core course to display in associated site courses

This release also ended the transition period for moving the control of student evaluation access to Student Administrators via Review and Release Groups. Course Coordinators will no longer see the previously used settings.

Curriculum Mapping

Updated XML with new data for AAMC curriculum import that conforms to new and existing business rules

User Interface updates:

  • Ability to identify in the settings tab which courses are clerkships and indicate a clerkship type of "integrated" or "rotation"
  • Ability to identify the duration of a given instructional method for a course in HH:MM
  • Ability to identify the minimum and maximum number of courses in a particular course grouping that a learner must take and when a particular course is required or optional
  • Ability to create course groups and program descriptions
Low Score Alert Urgent Tasks

Low Score Alert Urgent Tasks have been restored for all user types. This includes faculty and associated special designations -- Course Directors, Associate Course Directors, Advisors, Program Directors, Associate Program Directors, and Mentors. Any newly submitted evaluations with Low Score Alerts are expected to trigger the expected Urgent Tasks.

  • Multifactor authentication was made available.
  • User directory with name, photo and clickable link to contact information was made available for all users.
  • Users can access a list of all programs and department/core programs for the user’s Institution including the program’s contact and their information.
  • Ability to see notes, reminders, appointments, and meetings on the mobile calendar.
  • Faculty and residents can see messages to the evaluator when a resident or student initiates a performance evaluation and includes a message.
Evaluation Contestation
  • Ability for residents to contest a performance evaluation
  • Faculty evaluator and/or administrator will have the option to respond/resolve

General Form Templates

This enhancement will streamline bulk document creation for forms requiring Program Director signatures by populating form templates with an image of the Program Director's signature.

Asynchronous Reporting

Allows reports to run in the background with an alert appearing in the top right corner of your MedHub screen when your report is complete. This change will help Program Coordinators maintain efficiency even when generating data-heavy reports.

User Interface Updates

As a result of security updates to the MedHub component library, users may have already noticed visual changes to the MedHub user interface throughout the platform.

Evaluation Review & Release Settings

This change will add a new level of security and increased oversight in the evaluation process, which leads to better evaluation responses and, ultimately, helps drive program improvement. Please refer to THIS LINK to access an informational video, implementation job aid, and additional information related to this new feature. You can view and share this information as needed throughout the feature rollout.

Student Enrollment Management

Student administrators oversee course enrollment for hundreds of medical students. They need to be able to efficiently process course enrollment requests and have an easy-to-access view of enrollment decisions and associated supporting documentation.

This enhancement to the student administrator Enrollment Requests feature allows programs to retain access to files submitted during the enrollment request process and allow students to view their request history.

Associate Director Access

Roles across UME programs differ in their need to access student and course data. In order to provide Associate Directors with the data they need, MedHub implemented additional access controls for Faculty with Associate Director roles with the ability for access to vary across courses.

This enhancement provides the ability to apply more granular access controls to the Associate Director role.

Pre-populated Evaluations

Pre-populated evaluation functionality allows the Student Administrator and/or Course Coordinator to use one or more contributor evaluations to gather evaluation responses from multiple evaluations and have that information flow to and populate an identified master evaluation form.
